Choosing a T-shirt to wear under a blazer
Bring your blazer when trying on a T-shirt. A shirt can fit well on its own yet bunch at the shoulders or hang too low underneath a blazer. Checking both together makes the choice clearer.
Start at the neckline
An open blazer leaves the T-shirt neckline visible. Decide whether you prefer a higher, closer neckline or more space around the neck. Turn your head and sit down. A collar that looks good while standing should feel comfortable then too.
Check the shoulders
Close the blazer and reach forward. If the T-shirt sleeves bunch up, consider their width and the space inside the blazer. Automatically choosing a smaller shirt can create tightness across your chest. Try another model or combination instead.
Decide where the hem goes
If you wear it untucked, check where the hem sits against the blazer and trousers. If you tuck it in, look for excess fabric above the waistband. Sit down as well. A different trouser rise can change the result.
A place to start
Try White Smoke with brown or beige, or Sensational White when you want crisp white. These are colour suggestions, not rules. The Freedom Fit Tee has a regular fit and a higher collar. Use its measurements to assess the room under your own blazer. A T-shirt will not suit every dress code: follow the stated requirements for a formal invitation.
