Why do T-shirt prices vary so much?

Signature Tee Deep Black

Two plain T-shirts can look similar in a photograph yet have different prices. The logo or fabric weight alone will not explain that difference. Focus on what you can actually compare.

Fabric is more than cotton on a label

Fibre composition does not tell you everything about yarn, knit construction or finishing. Cotton can be made into different fabrics. A heavier fabric uses more material per square metre, but that does not reveal the cost of making the shirt.

Construction and selling costs matter too

Seams, collars, embroidery and other details take work. Production, transport, stock and selling also contribute to price. Their share varies by brand. Without evidence, it is not fair to assume a more expensive shirt is mainly a more expensive logo, or that it must be better made.

Make the comparison useful

Compare fabric information, garment measurements and finishing. What do you want to feel? How do you want the shirt to sit? The Freedom Fit Tee uses approximately 220 g/m² interlock cotton. The Signature Tee has 330 g/m² cotton. The Freedom Fit Lite uses lighter cotton and is not interlock. These differences help you choose without treating price as proof of quality.

Pay for what you will wear

A shirt you enjoy wearing is a better candidate than a more expensive one that stays in the wardrobe. Do not calculate a cost per wear from a promised lifespan that has not been established. Check the current product price, try the model and read the care information. Then choose for your own use and budget.
